Coin of the Week Sept. 6th 2012

We have begun a new blog series called "Coin of the Week".

For this new blog series we will feature one of our lessor known coins and that coin will also be on sale.

This weeks featured coin comes from Transnistria. Transnistria is a small, country that declared its independence in 1990.

Transnistria 2006 100 Rubles
Stamp of the Faithful Black Sea Cossacks
14.14gm Silver w/ Gold-Gilding Proof Coin.
The coin featured is the 2006 100 Rubles Stamp of the Faithful Black Sea Cossacks 14.14gm Silver w/ Gold-Gilding Proof Coin. This coin design features a replication of the Stamp of the Army of Faithful Black Sea Cossacks.

Although the history of the Black Sea Cossacks shows a vague, spread interpretation of events. It is clear that The Army of the Faithful Black Sea Cossacks displayed great courage and fortitude. The Zaporozhian Cossacks or Ukrainian Cossacks inhabited land from the 15th to 18th centuries. Becoming a strong political and Military force, the Cossacks challenged the authority from all nearby rulers. After years of conflicts and alliances they found their place in the Tsardom of Russia where they served a valuable role of defending the empire from tribes and were granted a great degree of freedom for their efforts.

This will be all for the first edition of the "Featured Coin of the Week" Blog Series. Tune in next week for more.

Also, be sure to head to our website and take a look at the New Coins and Sales sections.
